Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a travel consultation take?

Most travel consultations take approximately 20–30 minutes, depending on your destination, medical history, and vaccination needs.

Do I need a travel consultation if I’m only travelling for a short time?

Yes. Even short trips can carry health risks depending on the destination, activities, and local disease exposure.

What if I don’t know my full travel itinerary yet?

You can still book a consultation. Our providers can give general guidance and update recommendations once your itinerary is finalized.

Can I receive vaccines on the same day as my consultation?

In most cases, yes. Many vaccines can be administered during your visit, depending on availability and medical suitability.

Is it safe to receive multiple vaccines at the same appointment?

Yes. Receiving multiple vaccines at one visit is generally safe and commonly done in travel medicine.

What if I’ve already had some travel vaccines in the past?

Bring your vaccination records if available. We will review your history and determine if boosters or additional vaccines are needed.

Do I need malaria medication for my destination?

Not all destinations require malaria prevention. Your provider will assess your risk based on your travel location and itinerary.

Can children receive travel consultations and vaccines?

Yes. We provide travel health services for children and families, with age-appropriate guidance and vaccinations.

Are travel consultations covered by OHIP?

Travel consultations and vaccines are generally not covered by OHIP. Fees apply and will be discussed during your visit.

Can I book a last-minute travel consultation?

Yes. While we recommend booking 6–8 weeks in advance, last-minute travelers are welcome.

Will I receive documentation for travel or work purposes?

Yes. Where applicable, we can provide medical documentation related to your travel consultation or vaccinations.

What happens if my travel plans change after my appointment?

You may contact the clinic to review updated recommendations based on your revised itinerary.
